Chair John SpencerAppointed 1 July 2010, new Chairman of KiwiRail, Wellington-based businessman and company director John Spencer, will draw on considerable industrial experience to lead KiwiRail into the next phase of its development. Mr Spencer's most recent role was Deputy Chairman of Solid Energy, one of KiwiRail's largest customers. His background includes a period as the Chief Executive of NZ Dairy Group - one of the two dairy companies that merged to form Fonterra. He retains his interest in the dairy industry with a seat on the board of DairyNZ, the dairy industry's "public good" organisation. He also led the merger of Asure NZ Ltd and AgriQuality Ltd in 2007 to form AsureQuality Ltd, which he also now chairs. John is also Chairman of Tainui Group Holdings Ltd and WEL Networks. He serves on the boards of Allied Nationwide Finance Ltd, Tower Ltd, and is Deputy Chair of the Legal Services Agency. Deputy Chair Paula Rebstock, CNZMPaula Rebstock is an Auckland-based economic consultant and company director. She has recently completed a four-year term as Chair of the Commerce Commission and continues to be a Commission member. In October 2009 she became Chair of the Insurance and Savings Ombudsman Commission. Director Bob Field, ONZMBob Field is currently Chair of Toyota New Zealand after 40 years international experience in the motor industry, including 25 years as Toyota's CEO in New Zealand. He is the newly elected Chair of the NZ Business Council for Sustainable Development, a trustee of the World Wide Fund for Nature and an alumnus member of the NZ Business Roundtable. Director Bryan JacksonBryan Jackson is a company director. He is Chairman of Vehicle Testing New Zealand, a board member of the New Zealand Transport Agency, and a director of ING NZ Pty Limited, IEF NZ Ltd, and Nees Hardware and Building Supplies Ltd. Director John LeucharsJohn Leuchars is a professional company director who is a civil engineer by training, and has significant experience in senior management of international consulting engineering companies. He has governance experience in a number of large engineering consultancy firms and not-for-profit organisations. Director Mark FranklinPrior to taking up the Chief Executive role with TZ1 in late 2007, Mark was Chief Executive of infrastructure company Vector, which grew into one of New Zealand's largest publicly listed companies. An Australian, Mark has extensive experience in the energy and technology sectors in New Zealand, Australia and across Asia. His CEO roles in the IT and telco sectors have encompassed startup and consolidation as well as leadership roles. Director Mark TumeMark Tume is a professional director with significant experience in the infrastructure sector. He currently holds a number of directorships with listed and unlisted companies, including Infratil, Transpower New Zealand Limited, New Zealand Refining Company, and Ngai Tahu Holdings Corporation. He is also a member of the board of the Guardians of The New Zealand Superannuation Fund. |
