We are the kaitiaki (guardians) of the national rail corridor, and with that comes a responsibility to care for the communities that we operate in.
KiwiRail work hard across the country to educate people around safe behaviours when interacting with rail. Here you will find educational resources for pedestrians and drivers of all ages, including school resources.
KiwiRail regularly carries out proactive beautification initiatives within the rail corridor across New Zealand. We also support and facilitate community activities, such as litter collection and weed removal, where safe access can be provided.
Our Community Support Programme provides travel vouchers for Interislander and Great Journeys services to make it easier for groups to fundraise, take part in events, and celebrate their achievements.
