KiwiRail has 4,500 employees spread across 50 towns and cities in New Zealand.
We interact with New Zealanders in a myriad of ways each day and are conscious of the role we play in communities.
We enable around 24 million low carbon commuter journeys on our rail network each year, transport around a million visitors on our Great Journeys New Zealand, Interislander and commuter rail services and take our role as a good neighbour in communities around the country seriously.
KiwiRail works closely with TrackSAFE NZ on campaigns to keep our people and the public safe around the rail network. We send our KiwiRail ambassadors into schools to talk about safety, create social media content and videos on how to keep safe and each year run a Rail Safety Week with our transport partners.
KiwiRail is committed to enhancing our relationships with iwi and exploring opportunities for mutually beneficial partners. We are investing in training and development of our Māori staff to ensure a sustainable workforce for the future.
