Inductions and training

All contractors are required to complete relevant site inductions and training before carrying out work at KiwiRail or Interislander sites. 

KiwiRail Learning Exchange (KLE) is KiwiRail’s Learning Management System where contractors can complete inductions and training courses online.

 

Getting started

Visit http://openlearning.kiwirail.co.nz/ to log in or to register a new account.

Once you have created your profile, you can access the full training catalogue.

Contractor inductions for Interislander

Contractors working within terminals and/or in areas onboard ships are required to complete:

  • General Contractors Induction (no pre-requisites) Completion of this course gains your escorted access to Interislander work sites.
  • Advanced Contractors Induction (pre-requisite is the General Induction Course) Completion of this course gains you unescorted access to Interislander worksites excluding machinery spaces on ships. Unescorted access to machinery spaces can be obtained by completing in person inductions on the relevant ship.
