KiwiRail staff and contractors are continuing to work as fast as possible to replace the electronic equipment damaged in the signal box fire in Auckland on Monday.
This is a lengthy process involving cleaning the smoke-affected site, replacing the damaged components and a comprehensive commissioning process that involves extensive testing to ensure safety
We are working hard to complete repairs so normal operations can resume in time for the Thursday morning peak.
We apologise again to Auckland commuters, and we continue to work closely with Auckland Transport to minimise the disruption as much as possible.
