Suzanne joined the KiwiRail Board as chair in July 2025. She has extensive senior executive and governance experience across financial services, ICT, energy, global freight and logistics, central and local government sectors spanning domestic and international markets.

A Fellow of the Certified Practising Accountants of Australia and a Chartered Fellow of the New Zealand Institute of Directors, Sue is the Deputy Chair and Chair of the Risk and Assurance Committee of the New Zealand Infrastructure Commission, Te Waihanga.

Before moving into governance, Sue held executive roles as Group Chief Financial Officer of Auckland Council, Director of Consultancy at PwC, Executive Director of the Commonwealth Bank of Australia and Chief Operating Officer of Westpac Asia.

Jeff joined the KiwiRail Board in July 2025. Jeff is also chair of the Port Taranaki Board and has vast international governance experience across engineering, infrastructure, project management, and supply chains. A former director of Powerco Ltd, he was also on the Board and is a former chair of both Geelong Port and leading container port stevedores Patrick Terminals. He has also been a director and former chair of Arc Infrastructure, which owns and operates Western Australia’s bulk rail network, and Linx Cargo Care Group, the owner of C3 Logistics. Jeff is a member of the Australian Institute of Directors and Institute of Directors (NZ) and is a member of the NZ Institute of Engineers.

B Com, CA, CMInstD, PMP

Alastair joined the Board on 1 November 2025. He brings more than 15 years of governance experience across the public, private, and not-for-profit sectors. His current directorships include NZ Post Limited and NZX-listed Vector Limited, Auckland's electricity distribution business. Alastair is a publicly elected trustee of Entrust, Auckland’s energy consumer trust. He was the deputy chair of Foundation North and the founding chair of the Centre for Social Impact. Alastair is also director of The Ruskin Group, a business and infrastructure consultancy.

Craig joined the KiwiRail Board in August 2026. He has strong, real-world experience in the freight industry, including in optimising supply chains. Craig began his career at Freightways in 1980 before moving onto a 34-year stint with Mainfreight, including as Country Manager – head of Mainfreight in New Zealand - until 2021. He was Chief Executive of Move Logistics from February 2023 until August 2024 before becoming a director at Hilton Haulage Limited Partnership.

Murray joined the Board on 1 November 2025. He is a Chartered Accountant and former PwC partner with extensive expertise in assurance, infrastructure, and risk management. He is the Chair of Corde Limited, a Council-Controlled Organisation owned by Selwyn District Council and Methven Adventures Limited. Murray is also an Independent Member of the Risk and Assurance Committee for the New Zealand Infrastructure Commission. He is a Director for Airtech NZ Limited, Genesis Capital and IHC New Zealand. Murray is a former President of Chartered Accountants ANZ and CEO of technology company NomosOne.

Angela joined the Board on 1 July 2026. She brings strong digital transformation and technology management experience to the Board.

Currently serving as a director on the Quotable Value Ltd Board, her governance experience includes roles of Co-Chair at Faucet Foundation, and as a director at NZTech, AA Home, Parafed Auckland and Tennis New Zealand.
Angela is Chief Digital Officer at Craigs Investment Partners and has previously held senior roles across a number of sectors, including Chief Operating Officer and Chief Information Officer at REANNZ, Chief Information and Technology Officer at NZ Rugby and Chief Information Officer at AA Insurance.

Peter re-joined KiwiRail as Chief Executive in August 2022. He had previously held the same position from 2014 to 2018, before holding the role of CEO Fletcher Construction from 2018-2022.
Prior to KiwiRail, Peter was CEO of Downer New Zealand, and then held senior leadership roles with Downer Group in Australia and Singapore, including Board roles on the KeolisDowner Joint Venture operating Yarra Trams in Melbourne, and Gold Coast Light Rail. He has also held senior leadership roles with Todd Energy and Freightways New Zealand. More recently, Peter was Co-Chair of the NZ Government Construction Accord. Peter holds a Bachelor of Commerce from University of Auckland and has completed the CEO programme at Wharton University.

Bevan is a highly experienced infrastructure and transport executive with more than 30 years' leadership across New Zealand's rail, aviation, energy and infrastructure sectors. Prior to this role, Bevan was KiwiRail's City Rail Link programme director and has held senior leadership positions with Auckland Airport, Transpower, Housing New Zealand and Harrison Grierson, leading the delivery of major infrastructure programmes and organisational transformation.

Jason is a senior finance executive with almost 30 years’ experience as a CFO and Senior Finance/Commercial leader. Most recently CFO at New Zealand Steel, Jason has significant operational, commercial and financial leadership exposure in strategic change programmes at Sealord, PGG Wrightson and Auckland International Airport. He also held senior roles at Fonterra during its formative years, including the inaugural Director Global Supply Chain role.

Jeremy has 25 years of legal experience in government and private practice roles, leading legal, policy and technical teams. He has extensive experience in public and Crown Entity law, including Inquiries; litigation strategy; contracting and procurement along with insurance and construction law. His previous experience includes as General Counsel for the Earthquake Commission during a period of intense change and crisis management. Jeremy is a lawyer for Juno Legal, which provides on-demand in-house legal services.

With more 25 years’ experience, Terry began his safety career at DuPont working across petrochemical, mining and large manufacturing companies within New Zealand, Australia, and internationally. Terry has managed large safety teams at major companies including Goodman Fielder, Fonterra, NZ Post, The Warehouse Group and Woolworths Supermarkets Australia. He also served as Director of H&S Advisory Services at Simpson Grierson and has run his own consultancy. Across these roles he has developed and supported the implementation of Safety, Health & Wellbeing strategy, governance and assurance with a strong focus on critical HSW risk management.

Suzie joined KiwiRail as Chief People and Culture Officer in October 2025. She was previously Director People and Culture for the Operations division at Fonterra, across the 9000 employees in manufacturing, supply chain, global functions of food safety and quality and health and safety, and engineering and technical. Suzie has held senior people and culture roles in New Zealand and internationally, including a regional leadership role based in Amsterdam covering Africa, the Middle East, Europe, North Asia and the Americas. She has extensive experience in growing leaders and succession planning, talent management, employee relations, union engagement, and cultural transformation. Suzie is passionate about creating environments where people thrive and brings strong operational experience working with large, complex teams in commercial and supply chain settings.

Duncan was appointed Chief Operations Officer at KiwiRail in January 2026. In this role, Duncan is responsible for the leadership across KiwiRail’s Rail & Ferry operations, ensuring safe, reliable, and efficient delivery of rail and ferry services for both freight and passenger customers.

Previously, Duncan served as Interislander Executive General Manager, where he oversaw the operational performance of the Interislander ferries, including marine engineering, shipping operations, customer services, and shore-side logistics. His focus was on delivering an excellent experience for Interislander’s diverse customer base of domestic and international passengers and freight customers (rail and commercial vehicles).

Duncan joined KiwiRail in March 2023 and brings extensive leadership experience from senior positions in the New Zealand Army and the wider New Zealand Defence Force.

Siva is a civil engineer, Fellow of Engineering New Zealand and senior infrastructure executive with more than 25 years’ experience across rail, transport infrastructure, engineering and construction.

As KiwiRail’s Chief Infrastructure Officer, Siva leads the stewardship and performance of New Zealand’s national rail infrastructure, bringing together engineering and asset management, environmental management, infrastructure delivery, network planning, digital engineering and long-term network resilience. He also serves as KiwiRail’s Safety Liaison Officer, acting as the principal interface with the rail safety regulator and supporting the assurance of KiwiRail’s licensed rail activities.

Prior to this role, Siva served as KiwiRail’s Chief Operations Officer, leading its nationwide operations. He joined KiwiRail in 2015 following an extensive career in consulting and contracting across the roading, construction, civil and structural engineering sectors.

Adele joined KiwiRail in August 2023 in the new role of Chief Customer and Growth Officer. Adele is an experienced senior leader who spent six years as head of the export business unit for Fonterra Brands New Zealand. Prior to that, she was global General Counsel for Fonterra’s consumer and foodservice business and has held roles in top tier law firms in New Zealand and the United Kingdom.
